Brother are a name to be trusted in printing and provide an excellent entry level range of printers and good value for money in the small to medium printer category. A Brother laser printer will produce high quality prints at a reasonable speed, which is suitable for personal printing and small printing networks with a low to medium print output. If you are working to a budget of less that $600, a Brother laser printer is an excellent choice.

Depending on the model, a Brother laser printer will be capable of churning out 17 to 21 pages per minute in the 6000 x 1200 dpi range. The compact HL-3400 range is a good entry level printer, with an Ethernet network point and can handle color and B&W prints up to a speed of 17 ppm.

A more complete Brother laser printer solution is offered with the DCP-9045 range, which combines the functionality of a stand alone photocopier with high quality color laser printing and copy collation. The copier can run independently of a PC, so is ideal for a small to medium sized office. The copier can deal with 17 copies per minute, with printing at 21 ppm. Manuals and multi-page documents can be printed with ease with a high capacity 50-page document feeder and direct a PictBridge camera connection.

The Brother color LaserJet printer range will set you back between $300 to $500 for the HL-3040, 3070, 4040 and 4070 series. A Brother laser printer copier will cost between $500 to $600 for the DPC-9040 and 9045 ranges. A brand name such as Brother will guarantee you will not struggle to find consumables and toner, which are sold in most shops and online stores. The printer peripherals are also widely available and well priced.

Whilst not the fastest printers on the market, The Brother laser printer range offers outstanding value for money, and full capability for a small office.
